Example of Number of Solutions

This picture shows number of solutions for certain equation depending upon the degree of variable, which is true in all cases. In the picture, in first case we have only one solution whereas in the second case, there are two solutions.And number of solution depends upon highest degree of a variable for linear equations.In second case, both of the answers provide us the same distance. And that is one of the beauty of mathematics.
